Frequently Asked Questions

Osteopaths are Allied Health Providers (much like podiatrists, physiotherapists and midwives) who provide clinical care for musculoskeletal problems like pains and stiffness of various kinds.

As a registered osteopath I had to train at an accredited institution approved by the General Osteopathic Council. I trained for four years full time and did over 1000 hours of supervised treatment under the training of experienced clinicians.

In addition to being an osteopath I have a degree in psychology and am a certified health coach with  a specialism in behavioural change. I have additional training in senior fitness and pain free movement.

Treatment can sometimes may some people a little bit sore afterward - a bit like doing a new exercise you've never done before. It passes quickly.  If the actual treatment is causing you pain (more than a little discomfort) I will adjust accordingly - I don't want to have you feel any pain.

Sometimes I may ask people to undress an area so I can better examine it but you'd be able to put things back on so that you remain covered as much as possible in treatment. I also have towels that can be used for your modesty if you wish.

You can bring a chaperone if you like.

I generally ask people to wear loose thin clothing that moves easily. Ladies - the super supportive sports bras or 'racerbacks' can create a problem for examining your upper back so you may want to trade out for a different style.

I don't purposefully do heavy cracking - that's just how I have come to work. And - you NEVER have to consent to any treatment type you do not want, either with myself or anyone else.

Depending on your situation I may give some exercises or movements to help you progress your treatment. They will be available on an app that is free to download to your phone.

I will always aim to give movements that will work for you - if you are at a desk for 12 hours a day, I'll give you mainly desk based movements.  If you go to the gym 3 times a week I can put in some gym based exercises. My goal is to set you up for success, not make things harder for you.

In Bracknell there is free street parking and there may be a space at the house as well.  In London, parking is tricky though you can use the Hotel car park. Kensington High Street Station is a two minute walk.

Payment is processed securely at the time of booking.

Existing clients can pay via BACS as well.

I can provide receipts for your insurer if they do cash reimbursement.

I do not do third party billing and I am not registered with major insurers.  Why?  They reimburse YOU in full but would only reimburse me HALF of my usual fee.  As a sole operator not working on 'volume' this is not feasible.  They also require a paid third party service to bill, and limit sessions to 30 minutes.

I like longer sessions - and I'm sure you will too!
