Not long ago, I explained the top five reasons a person shouldn’t ever choose me as their osteopath. Yes, that’s right. Reasons to NOT choose me as their osteopath.
Are you a current patient? Well, today I’m going to give you three reasons to leave me. Yes. Out the door, right now, leave me.
The top reason to leave me: You don’t like price stability.
Some people prefer random price rises because it’s what they expect. But why?
I haven’t raised mine in three years….and though that doesn’t mean it’s not coming (prices of everything are going up!), I don’t raise them for no reason and I give lots of warning and chances to get in before the hike! One of the benefits of me working from home is that I don’t have the single most expensive cost to cover: additional rent of a clinic room. Working from home means I can buffer those things and offer more stable prices for my patients. It makes me feel warm and fuzzy to do that. If you want to pay £5-50 extra a session for silver and glass and pricey premises (and shorter sessions!), you should leave me now.
A second reason to leave right now: You want a jack of all trades and master of none.
To me there is filling your toolbox to help your patients and there is filling your toolbox to give you more marketing shizzle. I fill my toolbox very regularly in order to do my work with you better, as opposed to getting lots of varied, somewhat irrelevant letters after my name so that I look very posh. If it isn’t going to help you, I’m not going to do it. Why would I?
A final reason: you don’t want someone who cares.
I have longer sessions than most, which allows me extra time for people. I’m not in it to crank people through like they are on a conveyor belt. I’ve worked in places that are like that and I simply don’t like that environment. It’s not good for me and I don’t think it’s good for my patients either. So if you want someone who hardly remembers you or rushes you desperately out the door you should probably have never chosen me as your osteopath. When you mention something new, I make a note. When you are curious about something, I’m sure to write about it. I always answer my emails personally. It matters to me that you’re doing well, even if you left me for someone or something else. I’m kind of old fashioned that way.
So if you’ve decided to stick with me, considering booking in an MOT if it’s been a while. Let’s get on top of those niggles before they get the best of you.
